Dr. Kathy Barton Brown, MSW, LMSW, ACSW, PhD, is a seasoned psychotherapist with over 40 years in mental health. Passionate about empowering African Americans to address trauma and emotional pain, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and her master's in Social Work from Wayne State University. Dr. Brown holds a PhD in Humanities from United Graduate Seminary and has co-authored books with Dr. Ruben West and Dr. Juma Nelson.
She has received numerous awards, including the “Women in Power Award” and the “Phenomenal Women Making An Impact!” Award. As a Global Ambassador of Civility and a regular radio host, Dr. Brown is dedicated to promoting emotional healing and mental health. She is also an international speaker and adjunct professor, and will soon release her book and workbook, “Lord, Teach Me to Be a Wife!” She has been in private practice for 17 years and is a proud mother of two beautiful, young adult daughters.
